چکیده

A dynamic eddy viscosity (DEV) model and a constant (CEV) are proposed for stabilizing the temporal direct deconvolution (TDDM) in large-eddy simulation of turbulence. Compared to original unresolved subfilter-scale used TDDM, new models reduce number empirical coefficients make TDDM more convenient be applied practice. The DEV does not have any coefficients, CEV has only one coefficient that is independent filter width insensitive grid resolution. To solve stability issue an algorithm called variable filter-width method (VFM) proposed. In VFM, initialized by small value or 0 then grows linearly time steps until it reaches target width. three dimensional homogeneous isotropic turbulence investigate performance models. posteriori testing at different resolutions, enhanced show good accuracy predicting various statistics instantaneous spatial structures turbulence, they perform better than model, especially prediction (SFS) stress SFS energy flux. Moreover, spectrum other flow predicted with fixed 0.03 agreement filtered DNS.

Temporal Large-Eddy Simulation

In 1999, Stolz and Adams [Phys. Subsequently, the utility and accuracy of the ADM were demonstrated in a postenon analyses of flows as diverse as incompressible planechannel flow and supersonic compressi...

A new subgrid eddy-viscosity model for large-eddy simulation of anisotropic turbulence

A new subgrid eddy-viscosity model is proposed in this paper. Full details of the derivation of the model are given with the assumption of homogeneous turbulence. The formulation of the model is based on the dynamic equation of the structure function of resolved scale turbulence. By means of the local volume average, the effect of the anisotropy is taken into account in the generalized Kolmogor...

Comparison of Four Eddy-viscosity Sgs Models in Large-eddy Simulation of Flows over Rough Walls

Large Eddy Simulation (LES) has become an increasingly attractive option for turbulence modeling due to the rise in computing power and the improvement in sub-grid scale (SGS) parameterizations. This study tests the improvements in simulations of wall-bounded flows over heterogeneous surfaces attained by the implementation of three improvements in the eddy-viscosity SGS closure: the dynamic mod...
